For this module I'm doing Frontline, but what I'm really struggling to get a grasp of is the whole idea of representations. Like I understand the concept of telling the truth and how it is manipulated throughout frontline. But how exactly does the representation fit into the whole Frontline/Truth thing?

how frontline (a text) represents the concept/idea of 'telling the truth' ?

i think all you have to focus on for this module is the fact that the truth can be distorted/manipulated through the media, 'representation of the truth' - ie what is frontline trying to achieve, how does it do it (techniques).

im not too sure myself, (i did it in term 4, last year)
it's probably just how the truth is portrayed/represented through frontline (or rather, how the media changes a story to suit their purpose, the ratings war, etc)

So if we need to discuss representation do we just throw in some catchphrases, that it is always open ended and can be distorter, etc. Because this seems a bit vague and superficial to me.
