man, i'm so screwed.
Am doing:

Russia
Trotsky
conflict in the pacific

I reckon ww1 will be on censorship or propoganda coz i dont think they have ever asked it and there is like a billion sources they could use. Russia needs to be the power struggle or i'm screwed, if they ask a question about evaluation of trotsky like last year then i'm screwed and if conflict isnt on the home front or atomic bomb or pearl harbour then i'm screwed.

So basically, i need to be really lucky or... you guessed it.... i'm screwed.

Could they really give a question on the Versailles Treaty? Cos the WWI syllabus only deals with the role and goals of the Big Three.

- the roles and differing goals of Clemenceau, Lloyd George and Wilson in creating the Treaty of Versailles.

And that has already been set as a question before.
Exactly.
It's not probable.
Methinks Women, Home Fronts.

And as for Russian Withdrawal in WW1 - of course there have been Qs on it. Turning points two years in a row. Not likely they'd do it again.

The Modern History syllabus scares the hell out of me.
SO many treaties and presidents and dates and events to remember.

Im doing;
World War I
Germany 1918-1939
Gorby
Cold War

Does anyone else think Mikhail Gorbachev is uninteresting?
I do not find politics to be an interest at all, so I am not expecting to do well in the personality essay.

I'm so excited...I love Modern. <3

I'm expecting the Role of Women and Reasons for the stalemate for WWI.

Then for China(1927 - 1949), I'm not sure what they'll ask

Then Sun Yat-Sen - Not sure either

Then Indochina, not sure again. :p

I love how my topics all flow on from one another. It's very handy! (Well, apart from WWI...but hey, the China/Indochina ones work lovely together!!) Good luck to you all
Me toooo <3
Love it.
I do WW1, Germany, Cold War and Gorby. The last two fit together so well and even WW1 and Germ go together quite nicely.
Pretty excited but also scared.
Hoping for an excellent, straightforward paper with room for individual argument.
Good luck to you too

I'm doing everything you're doing and I LOVE Gorby.
Fascinating as a historical figure and he fits SO well with Cold War.

hay yeah i agree i think ww1 will either be on homefront or Passchendale
as for russia i think it will be either changes in society in the peroid 1928 to 41 however they could ask an overarching question encompassing both lenin's peroid and stalins as they did last year with ideology??
moreover, the powerstruggle has not been asked since 2002 (i think) and it is likely they could ask that
as for conflict in europe im predicting a causes cuz they didnt have one last yr and they had foreign policy in the germany national study so they could have a causes this year either appeasement or collective security however it may be why did britain and france go to war over poland in 1939 and not earlier something like that? and maybe an end of war question a(allied victory)such as the air war and maybe the holocaust

as for the personality its really pot luck

Good luck

Modern History is nearing, less then 2 days to go!!

WWI= Womens role + conscription and Propaganda
Germany + Britain Home Fronts (food, munitions, governments)
Battles of verdun somme and passchendale ( soldiers accounts)

Russia= Collectivisation + industrialisation ( economy 5 yrs plans de- kulakisation)
Cult of personality on society and culture
Power struggle and Stalins rise to power!!

Trotsky= (a)International views of personality rise to prominece or their impact on history from background to demise!! Public + Private life (b) the verdict of history is unanimous how is this for ur personality studied??

Conflict in Europe= Appeasment + collective Security ( They should always have one military related question)
Account for the strategies to allied victory
the extent of air war
and nazi racial policies and Nuremberg trials!!
D-day + liberation of france 1944

Thnx and good luck (E.B.H.S 08)

I'm doing:
-WW1
-Germany 1918-1939
-Leni Riefenstahl
-Arab Israeli Conflict

Overall Arab-Israeli conflict is my worst, by a mile. Leni Riefesnstahl + WW1 is my best and Germany falls into the middle. Haven't really started memorising yet, only got notes done. Ahhhh. SO over it all.

I'm hoping that I can get WW1 and Leni done today, and get half of Germany done tonight, before concentrating on Germany and Arab-Israeli tomorrow. It's already 1pm, so I'll see how that goes.

Really hating modern right now!
