Hi people,

Just wondering what do you believe are the most important
three unit topics in the course. What i mean is the questions
that usually have the most marks in the HSC. For example there
isnt going to be to many questions on circle geometry.

And i know that topics like projectiles and binomials are heavily weighted
in exams oh and anything to do with trig.

But are there other topics that need lots of attention.

P.S: I know all topics must be important, but there are some that get
more attention.

Well the calculus topics are most weighted in the HSC test, and in trials

IMO, projectile motion is probably what will separate the good from the best...

always 1 question dealing with inequalities (with an x on the denominator) and division of an interval and angle between 2 lines.

Also the topic with the focus, and point p(2ap,ap2 on parabola x2=4ay .. etc. that takes a buncha marks.

newton's method of approximation is a usual overlooked one as well ...

inverse trig ... integration by substitution. Yeah.. projectile motion will probably be one of the harder questions. (i hate projectile motion :()

lol, if that was really a joke. But yeah, calculus takes up a fair few marks in the 2 unit HSC, not entirely sure about the 3 unit one, although the proportion looks the same.
Why would I joke about that, Calculus is pro. Seriously. Integration is like mmm sweet, except for those recurrence formulas, but hey this is 3 unit.

Look out for those "problem solving" type questions, e.g projectile motion, harder trig, harder max/min questions, SHM. They are usually in the last few questions of the 3 unit paper.
