We are doing "Bend It Like Beckham" which is pretty good for belonging. What about "March of the Penguins" or "Freedom Writers"?

Cool, "Freedom Writers" would be a great text since theres alot of barriers preventing belonging from the students/teacher.

Thanks for the help, forgot I had that movie lol.

Film techniques:
Setting
Characterisation
Camera shots
Camera Angles
Lighting
Special Effects

Just don't forget to highlight how the techniques convey belonging ( depending upon the question asked.

yeah gattaca!

also, this movie wouldn't strictly be about the theme of belonging or whatever, but sometimes it's good to find texts which aren't wholly about it and just explore one aspect of the topic. so maybe the Departed? you could do how belonging affects our code of behaviour, defines how we act, plus all the subtleties of loyalty/power within belonging.

You may not want to watch this if you do not like violence and/or anime.

Try the Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal OVAs. Total time is a few minutes less than 2 hours but if you love that sort of thing go for it.

It's has avery good storyline (I love Kenshin) and belonging works very well- he's a killing machine but wants to live the peaceful life. I'm probably going to do it for belonging; used it last year for journeys ^^

Does anyone know some of the techniques or specific scenes that show concepts of belonging?

This is annoying. :cold:
