hmmm mine said the first couple of times that it was cos my contact list was unavailable. now it's decided to change it's mind and say the service is temporarily unavailable.

either way it still isn't working... annoying. and e-messenger won't work for me either!

MSN seems to be experiencing difficulties this morning, both with signing in, and retrieving the contact list. The status page says services are AOK, but from what we can tell here, people are being affected here.

Best advice is to try a few times to connect, if not, take a break for a while then come back to it later.

Wow, can we sort of have a general MSN thread? I get rather pissed off whenever I see some 2367 threads saying "Oh NOES!!!!!1!!!!!111 MSN w0nt wurk!!!!!1" every time someone can't log on.

As for the original Question, the msn servers have been suffering numerous problems for the last month or so. (This includes the hotmail servers). Everynow and then you'll probally experience a few difficulties logging on. ON this occasion it was server side.

For the record ive tested the servers and it seems that The only operational servers are baym-cs77.msgr.hotmail.com to baym-cs137.msgr.hotmail.com (Ip range 207.46.2.21 to 207.46.2.74)

^^ for the benefit of those who know how to force msn to use a server

Their 70 or so other servers appear to be down.

Why is it always so important for people to get on MSN that it's a big deal whenever it goes down?

procrastination...and you can have multiple conversations at once and dont have to listen to people with gross voices...its easy to ignore people you hate and you ahve time to think about ur responses
