Is it OK if I have two antivirus programs on my computer? Will they conflict? I'm thinking of installing AVG after my Norton registration expires. Thanks.

They Should

They Should Be No Problem Having Multiple Anti Virus Programs. But The The Problem With Norton They Keep Coming Out With New Version Like 2005,2006 And You Have To Pay To Buy. You Can Update But You Miss Out On New Features.

Plus You May Have To Pay For Updates As Well.

Um Have Avg, Spybot And Search, Zonealarm Thats All You Need. Maybeanother One Spyware Program.

Avg Is Really Good Though.

Alot better IMHO.

Everything Norton does (except for the whole hog all your system resources thing). So basically it protects your computer from viruses and allows you to scan for and remove/repair excisting infections.

does it have updates,
Yes. Quite regulary.

AVG is completely free of Spyware/Adware/Malware/Viruses etc. Ask anyone who uses it. If you don't believe me, feel free to google it.

Its well worth a shot.

BTW, Antivir ( http://www.free-av.com/ ) is just as awesome. It is also free.

And even with the "Personal Edition" of AVG they still come up with new virus definitions almost everyday hence better up-to-date protection. The ppl at AVG rocks :)
EDIT: The personal edition is the free edition

OK, just uninstalled Norton to make way for AVG. I have, however, kept past records of viruses somewhere. Thanks a lot peoples. :)

People who use inferior browsers/e-mail clients and will open any file that anyone sends them. These people, it seems, are about 90% of the computer using population.

mcafee is better than norton but it still uses large aounts of system resources, avg does a better job and uses practically zero
