Maybe, I don't know, but I think thats too much. Time at home should not be used for school work, and even in the HSC I think more than a couple hours a night is too much.

i rememebr my mum use to ban us from watching t.v until we did our homework
so i used to go weeks without t.v coz i never did my homework
if anything..it was better that way

this person is lucky they dont have to experience a single minute of BB05 and OC...even those who dont watch the aforementioned shit (exception=LOST) are forced to endure the ads...now thats a fukn torture...i envy u eyesy, in taht respect...

I have to assume ur azn (well im asian too, curry specifically)...My friends parents were very strict also, and it didnt do their sons ne good at all, and i think their parents realised this after the hsc and have eased off now theyre in uni...I very much doubt ur parents studied endlessly without breaks back in their day, i dont know y they impose such a ban...its only the hsc really, one doesnt need to study endlessly for it...u lack a balanced lifestyle, if u study all teh time its actually more of a detriment ...take funniboi's suggestion, wheneva u need to chill, just go on teh internet, d/l some movies, music etc and RELAX...im not saying u shud studying completely tho

In this situation i say divide it into Pro's and Con's

Pro 's :

1. More time to study ( no addictive shows or Console games )
2. Luxury of not watching a single minute ( accidently ) of big brother 05 or OC ( shit shows )
3. More time to socialise umm yeah

Con's :

1. Boring , some shows are actually decent ( my restaurant rules , battle galactica , law and order etc.

2. Cant really talk mcuh with friends


I dunno , it looks pretty even , if your like a A student then thank your parents for banning you from TV . Put it this way , a little sacrifice now will guarantee you with a 50 k job a year

T.V doesn't really bother me that much, I don't watch too much of it anyways maybe an hour or two and a bit more before I go to sleep ( I have a t.v in my room) but doesnt mean it gets watched much.
now if my parents took away my music thats a different story, I'm telling you now they'd die!!!! I've grown up with music and to take that away would be hell!!!!
