That guess recheck stupid thing is just that - stupid! Using log is so much more easier, and my teacher swears by it as well. So I do think you can use it in the HSC. But if we do get a question, it'll probably be in the multiple choice, so you wont have to show working out!

Have you got a graphics calculator? That thing is the best!

yep i got a graphics!!

but showing the working in the HSC wuld b safe just incase u get it wrong but the marker can see that u know what ur doing n therefore u can get extra marks

lol, that's the best part about doing general! I know the scaling sux, but if you're getting extra marks here and there, then that really helps!

Umm "guess and check"? wtf, just do the log method on a separate piece of paper, and pretend your 1st guess was right or something...
