Need help finding a related text which deals with the breaking of tradition (1 Viewer)

The prescribed text is Strictly Ballroom and my first related text is The Club by David Williamson. I need help finding another related text which deals with the breaking of tradition and the alienation experienced by that character as they choose not to conform. Preferably something not to long like a short story, poem, movie etc.

Thanks for your help, but i decided to do Looking for Alibrandi. I studied the text in year 10 so I am already familiar with it which makes things much easier.

Looking for Alibrandi is a bad text to use, because so many school study it, and also because it was on the HSC course, hence it is seen as a 'soft option'.

I know its probably not the best text but I think my essay turned our pretty well and I don't have time to change it now anyway . It sure beats doing the ugly duckling though, which was one of the related texts the teacher gave us.
