Ok im thinking of buying one of the 2. I like Neverwinter Nights setting better than WoW cartoonish theme. But i dont know about the gameplay. Neverwinter Nights one was pretty cool.

EDIT: Right now i dont want to pay monthly, but is WoW so much better that its worth paying monthly?

never been a fan of the NN series, number2 looks cool but i couldnt consider investing so much time into a game that wasnt online.

WoW is good, and you stated it wrong: the graphics are [intentionally so] a bit cartoonish, the theme is far from it. The background and current story of the WoWniverse are pretty complex, theres some dark shit in there alongside the goodvs notsogood.

You will enjoy playing with other people immensely, choose WoW

If you want to play a MMO, Everquest 2 beats WoW hands down.

- Same release date, but EQ2 has 3 expansions out
- You can get the original game and all 3 expansions for $85
- It has great gameplay
- It's first person with excellent, realistic graphics

The only proviso is that you need at least 1 gig of RAM, but nothing that NWN2 wouldnt also need.

In terms of gameplay BG2 is a better game than NWN2, it has a more immersive storyline, more freedom and better questing full stop. If you want something with more modern graphics, try Oblivion if you haven't played it already. While the graphics in NWN2 are nice, the system requirements are disproportionate to the graphical quality.

Just my 2 cents :p

^Oblivion? as in the sequel to the elder scrolls/morrowind? that game is good except for the fighting system. Trying to kill something is annoying and takes forever if you character is shit

NWN 2 is online though...

Also the decision is do you want to play per month to play or not.

the bad thing i find about NN is that you can pause the game and command your characters next move in single player, but luckily they turned it off in multiplayer.

WoW has a really good learning curve and isn't actually quite difficult to grasp. In between quests, pvp, grinding, battlegrounds, there really won't be a lack of things to do. Oh and nothing beats 2 shotting someone from behind a tree =]

This is completely biased as I have no knowledge of the NWN series so...

roll WoW.

Get Guild Wars if you don't want to pay per month. Though I don't play online games so I can't say which is better.

If you've played NWN 1, 2 will probably be hard to get used to at first (some changes to key shortcuts and other stuff). Graphics are now better and you can hire up to 3 henchman - giving you that classic 4 person party. If you enjoyed 1, I'm sure you'll love 2.
