hope they dont change the logo/style to something more hip or modern to differentiate it from usyd/unsw ala apple's colour scheme.

maybe chuck in a few chinese characters somewhere on the emblem. at least we'll being "transparent" in pandering to the fobs.

If you haven't already noticed, we've gone from the Sirius star to the Star of David, Macquarie is now well on its way to becoming a Jewish Uni!

I like it, but that's discounting the fact that it's a uni logo.
Changing the logo of a uni doesn't make much sense to me. Its logo is not something that needs to be changed

i think having the star there shows that the 'petals' don't really mean anything related to uni, and they've needed to slap on the star to give it some meaning.
i don't see what was wrong with the old one, and don't see how when ppl see this they will think of macquarie.
also, has 'australia's innovative university' been dropped?

The whole logo is too abstract, it doesn't mean anything.

The old one, according to their 'research', didn't mean anything and people didn't know what the lighthouse meant.

The tag line, again according to their 'research' was seen as cheap, I agree with it, purely because it was shit.

even with the most successful brands people dont often know what the symbol means, but at least they know that it means something and can go look it up or think about it. these petals or whatever they are are way too abstract, and it doesnt even register that it is a uni- it could pass for a charity or an ngo.
if theyre not going to get rid of it, they should change the star at least.

What a waste of time and money. Why change something that doesn't need changing? They've replaced something recognisable and familiar with something completely arbitrary and unknown.

Okay, so as far as I can tell the 'petals' are suppossed to be abstract gum leaves? But why would they replace Sirius with the Star of David? That makes no sense to me.

As far as I can tell it just looks like a lame shot at getting Macquarie a bit of attention.
