Oh btw, jsut as a side note Sweet, mq is great in that, you can change your tutorials and pracs basically anytime via estudent, our online thingy.

So dont worry if you dont like what you get initially, when you get more comfortable at uni you can structure your uni week to have one day like me :D
OH? u only attend one day? o_O........kooliezz...hehehhe~~~btw...wat degree u doing?

u reckon i can bring in a recorder cassette and record the lecture....hahhaah....kinda of a bit lazy.....but i heard my teacher say it's illegal???
i dont know if this has been answered - the uni records most of them, so about 5 to 7 days after the lecture you can go and tape it from the library. i have seen people tape the lecture themself - they brought the tape to the front and left it at the front (asking permission from the lecturer of course). as for taping while in the audience, chances are you won't hear anything, the mics aren't they loud, they just give the even softish sound around the theatre so it's like they are talking to you,.

Most of my subjects (LAW units) are digitally recorded and availabe for download on mp3 format on WebCt...but maybe thats only for certain subjects.

It depends on the subject convenor and lecturer.

I know that most PHIL subjects are recorded normally, but PHIL131 last sem wasnt, and i really dont know why, since the mics were working for both our locations.

Most lectures have microphones which are worn by the lecturer and then fed through the PA and/or recorded. So you dont have to, but if its not being taped this semester perhaps recording would be the best bet, and theres not much talk during lectures. Lectures = sleep time :)
