Haha yeah, you would go to the library, the section is called e-reserve, its just to the right of the main library tables as you come in, you can listen to tapes that have been recorded there, or alternatively, some units offer two lectures, one day and one night, and usually the night one is a recording.

I found the day ones to be recorded rather the evening lectures (BBA and PSY subjects).

The library section is called Reserve, not e-reserve. Sorry, it just sh*ts me at work when people come up and ask where the e-reserve is. lol. I tell them e-reserve is on the web.

you just have to trust them. sometimes if the recording doesn't work the lecturer will tape it again but most of them time it's bad luck. but that doesn't happen very often. i take the chance.

Nah (though would I really admit to it if I was lol)... But I'm curious as to who that person is...I haven't found any of my workmates to be racist. What do they look like?

goodtogo... well he was a he.... and he looks kinda tough... so i stepped back... dont need enermies first day at uni...

steph: basically... 100 level means first year... so basically do 4 (full time) for semester 1... check you meet the pre-req for the subjects and enrol into them... you should be fine since all 100 level stuff youd make into having got into your course...

as oj said, 100 level is generally first year, 200 level generally 2nd year and so on.

you can, however, do them in any year you want - provided you have done the prerequisites for the subject.

if you have so many 100 level subjects that you can't fit them you might have to do one in 2nd year.
if you have a 200 level subject without a prereq, or with a prereq that you did in first semester, you can do the 200 level subject in first year.

So say you have like a full day...all classes from like 9am to 3pm etc. Umm are there like 5min breaks between different classes or how does this work? Because for some days, it seems i have no "free period" that i could use for a "lunch break" =p

You are expected to be at a class five past, and you can expect the class to end five to (but ths of course varies with lecturer/tutor).

I'm surprised a first year actuarial doesn't get a break.

Anyway, you can eat in lectures (although you're prolly not allowed strictly speaking).

Ok sounds decent.
And if i can just quickly run through this:

Tutorials are basically like high school classes (friend told me this). You sit and do questions from the textbook and tutor works questions through with the group and stuff? Opportunity to ask questions, personal help, etc.

Lectures is basically just the person talking for an hour (or two) and you are supposed to take notes. You dont do any problems etc? Possibly ask questions ?

And Practical(for comp)...lecturer/tutor guy gives instructions and u just follow suit? =p

Cheers

Okay.. if it says that a certain unit is offered D1 and D2, it means that it's offered during the day during semester one and semester two. Does that mean I have to do it all year? or I just pick when I want to do it?

Yep. pretty much. Some lectures you might possibly be do some questions (such as in MATH135), but the focus is just listening and writing the juicy bits :p

You pick the one you want if its DE1 and DE2. ( i think DE1 means Day/Evening sem 1, but dont quote me on that). So D1 or D2 means its available in daytime for sem1 and 2 but you pick one of these. if its DE3, then the 3 means full year. im referring to last years book (dont have the new one) but i think its the same.

Yeah it's still the same now.. so with subjects like STAT170 and ACST101, would it really matter when I did it?
