Is anyone doing/ has anyone done a language through OHS?
If so, what one? And do think it will be a big struggle...?
Japanese continuers isn't running at my school and i don't know whether to still do it... :S

I do Japanese Continuers. When I was doing year 10, I was about to do Chinese Beginners but since the Japanese class wasn't running I had to choose one or the other (I couldn't do both because of the work load even though a guy in my class is doing Japanese Continuers & French Beginners). As long as you get a good teacher & keep up the work load then it shall be okay.

I did OHS French Continuers last year for the HSC. I found the course the most enjoyable out of all my subjects and the most intellectually stimulating, but then again I was lucky in having an awesome teacher who wasn't very strict in regards to forcing me to follow the timetable set to do the work and send it in, and gave me the freedom to study however I liked, unlike other teachers who impose on you to learn by the book and timetable set like an automaton, which isn't really cool if you're by nature an autodidact like me. I also liked the nature of OHS of how that because you are studying by yourself and not in contact with your peers, except for a once a term visit to the OHS in Randwick, there is none of that bitching and backstabbing being exposed to you that generally is present in your classes in school where there are some narcissistic, insecure, and highly competitive wankers in your and your classmates' midst (you know whom I am talking about). All in all, if you have a passion for the language you wish to study; a lot of determination, self-discipline, and motivation; and find no trouble in learning things mostly by yourself, I'd strongly recommend you to go for it, though be warned that you might get lazy at times with the freedom and flexibility you have by being an OHS student, which means you'll be doing heaps of all-nighters if you aren't really good with time management; I was guilty of this.

I don't know if it's 'safe' enough to take up though...
The predicament is that I'm leaving my current school, which is running the Japanese continuers course, to a selective school; However only one other and myself expressed interest and therefore it was cancelled.
My current teacher says I'm capable of doing OHS because I'm self-motivated and quite determined to succeed. But, I like to take things too far and create sentences that can be grammatically incorrect, so I need lots of clarification :L

If you think you are capable of it, go right ahead. Depending on your teacher, then they can really help you. I don't know other departments at OHS except for Japanese, but I only experienced two teachers from the Japanese department within a term. My old teacher was a massive hag who was just frustrating and I swear, I could easily pick up mistakes from her that I knew it wasn't correct. My current one is really good for helping me with speaking but lacking on giving me help with the rest. But I guess that's the same with all teachers. Don't let my semi-negative experience ruin for you.
