My mate in year 11 wants to know which one aligns better, Astrophysics or Quanta to Quark?

I would say Q2Q, Astro is pretty easy, mostly rote, not many calculations and the calculations that you do need to do have the formulas on the sheet.

He is quite into space but wants to get a band 6 so he wants to pick the best aligning option. Also how low does astrophysics align proportionate to Quanta to Quarks?

Just pick the favourite. Surely they can't bring a 25/25 down to a 23/25...

^ Depends on the difficulty of exam questions.
Astro is probably second best aligning after Q2Q, it's not going to affect the marks that much

I had no idea that options were scaled. I thought they were just out of 25 and it stays the same.....

Don't pick an option based on this. It is done afresh every year any way. Everyone will have different interests involved with each option. Pick the one you like most or find interesting.

Does anyone know how Medical Physics generally scales? And does picking different option topics to the majority of your cohort change assessment moderation in any way? We've got about 25 doing q2q and 4, including me, doing medical this year.
