Hey i am going to be studying at the Parramatta Campus business (human resources and industrial relations)/law i want to attend both course based orientation sessions but my problem is they are both on at the same time:

  • B Business (Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations) - 23rd February 11am-12:30pm
  • B Laws 23rd February 9am-2pm

i told the lady who gave the flyer to me at aas what should i do about the situation she said whatever you want to do

can someone give me some more "guided" advice then this?

I would attend the law information session, because they do give out quite a lot of information and talk about the course, expectations- that sort of thing, requirements- the info that 1st year law students need to know. But u can leave to go and listen to the first part of your business session and go back to the law. Otherwise, you could get someone to go to the business one for you. There will be many in your situation since most of the business degree sessions are on at the same time as the law.

I would speak to one of the law people at the beginning, ask what they will be doing... its seems that 5 hours is pretty long for a general info session... could possibly be doing a repeat of the same thing in the afternoon... So I would try to find out if it is going to be the same info session repeated

Also, if you can be bothered you can go to the b Business (Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations) course information/orientation session at Campbelltown on the 24th of Feb from 10am to 12pm in Building 10 Lecture Room 21.

Although it is a day later than parramatta, the information/handouts given will be exactly the same as parramatta because its exactly the same course. Even though its the course is on 2 campus's all the subjects are the same.

Just an idea!

I agree with what's been said, if I were in your position I'd go to laws too...I think there would be a lot more said there that you wouldn't want to miss. ;) I'd say out of the two you could deal with missing the other one more.

sometimes come courses have different info like what units to be studied in which semester.
but id say law, business can wait since its pretty much the same thing anyway.

Oday= provide a 'Survival Pack' which tells you info about the course, how to get through it, emails/address of lecturers and contacts, general info about uni and some career advice.
i dunno aobut career advice in other courses, when i had B tech, they told us about IT and that the job market isnt falling, there are plenty of jobs yada yada yada to reassure us.
ALso see head teachers and what they look like, some people find out that the names on tute rego and the real peopel look way different then expected. yeah well thats just me.
but the law ones seems brutal, m ybusiness one only takes an hour so i think its just the bare minimum of what things you need to know.

i was thinking of doing that but it says on the site to go to your home campus thats what deterred me from not going to campbelltown, i was also thinking maybe if i get in contact with someone i could pick up the stuff some how

they only tell you to go to your home campus so that when you do the library and uni tours, you know where you are. e.g. doing tours at another campus youre not going to is a waste of time. also meeting new students at your home campus is more better than ppl you will see only once at another campus. so i say go to c'toen for the business one but dont do the tours and stay fro the free bbq if you want.
