Yeah i went to the writing course yesterday, stayed for about an hour or so.
The lecturer basically talked about writing essays, lyk understand the key words in the question (critically analyse, etc.), work out wot the q is sayin, etc. Stuff they told us last yr for the HSC. She also talked abt the importance of 'effecvtive reading'. That was abt it really.
There's also more courses throughout the semester, i'm not sure abt the exact dates, but i think there's 1 new course a wk.

y should they wait? they have to get right into the work! lol!
well obviously u have to start the topic first- but i'm sure they'll want to no how well u can write/type.......
