Mum and Dad share looks
Dad: "Whhaaaaaatt??? What happened to the other 0.05?! How dare you! You have failed us!! This is what happens when you spend so much time playing your stupid computer games!"
Me: "Dad, I was joking. I actually gor 99.95, sorry"
Mum: "Oh thank god, you almost gave me a heart attack!"
Dad, still pissed off, walks away.

Haha my dad wouldn't go to work until he found out. Then when I told him he looked down at the ground and almost started crying 68.10 was not what he was expecting.

His response:

"So you can't get into uni..."

My mum told me my ATAR haha.
I work with her, and i was in the next room. She alled me from her office and said 'it says on the UAC site you can get your ATAR now... do you want to know right now?' so i told her my student number and pin and she told me. Then everyone we work with. They were so happy for me and congratulatory and THE BEST PART:

MUM BOUGHT ME 4 MINT PATTIES!

they're my favourite food in the whole world. she's the best mum ever i swear.

p.s. my atar was 83.95. I was STOKED!

I got it at 8:30 and called my dad, who was taking my mum in for major surgery.
Me: "Hey Dad, is Mum in a position to be told my ATAR?"
Dad (driving through morning traffic): "What? Yes, she's here."
Me: "Okay, can you tell her I got "..."? Thanks Dad, bye."

When Dad got home at 9:40-ish.
Dad: "I told Mum. What did you say your UAI was?"
Me: "..."
Dad: "Is that good?"
Me: "It's all right."

Later, visiting Mum post-op. Straightaway:
Mum (all doped up and sleepy from the anaesthesia): "Congratulations, that's a solid effort."
Dad (changing subject): "We wanted to get you flowers but we thought we'd see how you were first."
Mum (super tired and drowsy): "Get her flowers. You did well."

Haha. My uncle called this morning to see how my mum, his sister, was. About 30 seconds after hanging up I heard the phone ring again - "I forgot to ask how you did! ... ... That's excellent! Is that enough?" <starts talking in his careers advisor mode>.

And that's pretty much my story of today.

meh, it was mums birthday today. Got 87.6 (2nd in year) was happy with that. Would have loved a 90+ (goal was above 80 though but Mum would have bought an iphone out right for me if I got 90+!!), but still I only needed a 75 for my course!

Mum was like "wow!! Im so proud"
Dad was like "heh, good." He really was just relieved he didn't have to spend 1000 on a phone ;)
