i was thinking of the cad.. but it was tested last year..so i am not so sure.
and also, monetary and fiscal would be a good one too...but it was tested last year too...

what about distribution of income?
labour market?
case study again??

what other big issues are there?

micro/labour market reform
case study - strategies to promote or impact of globalisation
fta's, international organisation, trade blocs

i doubt labour market reform...it is an issue at the moment, but the HSC was set back in March when it wasn't really in the news (except the odd thing about skills shortages and the NAIRU)

invalid statement ur make there...2001 and 2002 paper had extended responses on external stability/ CAD and so did 2004...so don't rule anything out.

i suggest u open ur leading edge and memorise ur brazil or poland case study.....economic development and golbalisation is major...thats what the advice line dude said....apprantly they are changing the syllabus next yr.

Hmm, somehow I see it being Microeconomic Reform and the perhaps an out of ordinary Globalisation essay [i.e. one that asks for a specific impact on inflation,etc] seeing that this year does offer many reductions in trade protectionism in both Australia and other countries..

Yeah definately *something* that involves microeconomics.

Maybe even a question that regards gov econmic policy in general.....(i.e both macro+micro)

I would love something like that, as it give the chance to examine the bigger fuller picture of government intervention and reform in the economy.....
