A lot of it has to do with how you present yourself on a resume. Like if your resume shows nothing but your academic achievements at school then that’s basically instant rejection for a retail employer (unless they’re desperate) because that has zero relevance to them. If you have like extracurricular activities to show off that are people facing then that is more relevant to emphasise on your resume because those skillsets are important for the job.One of my friends applied and got 3 christmas casuals and bros never walked a goddamn day in his lifesome ppl r actually smth else….
Basically extracurricular activities are the key to getting you a job when you’re starting out, especially if the skill sets involved are related.
