ohhhhhhhhh!!!!! good luck!

either way they are both good courses. ive heard unsw is actually better than usyd for law

I prefer USYD's atmosphere more. I hear more UNSW students critisising other law schools than anything, and it's this culture of intolerance and elitism that I want to avoid. :) It's law school is fantastic though, but a pity that competition with other law schools has brewed this culture within it.

Haha I found it to be the other way round for most faculties...

@USYD
Me: So I'm still hovering between USYD and UNSW for law.
Student/People behind stalls: Oh they're both really excellent law schools.

@UNSW
Me: So I'm still hovering between USYD and UNSW for law.
Them: Well I would say UNSW, because USYD is old-school and elitist.

From people in the same profession and future professionals, I would've expected a degree of respect for others. UNSW could've just highlighted the merits of their law school instead of putting down some other one.

Elitism = Perceived superiority
Say what people may about USYD, but UNSW's attitude to other law schools definately smells of pretentiousness. With all the competition between the two law schools, UNSW seems to have fallen to "your law school is crap because..." rather than "our law school is good because...". What I would've prefered is an acknowledgement that neither school is better than the other, but that each caters to different perceptions of education.

Ron McCallum, in the law lecture at USYD, outlined his purpose was to give everyone an idea of what law was like at USYD and not to debate issues of which law school was better than which. I idolise him for his loyalty to the profession and position in USYD to be able to paint his school in bright colours and not sling mud on others.

3 - LLB/B Science
4 - LLB/B Computer Science
5 - LLB/B Arts
6 - B Nanotechnology (Advanced)
7 - B Nanotechnology
8 - B Medical Science

All of them are at Wollongong. The 'usual' cutoff for law is 91 (I miss out by .05), and seems to be the same for all courses - I'm just putting them all there 'just in case' :p

Most likely I'll get into the Advanced Nanotechnology program. I hope so, anyway.
