What do the prefects at your school do?

we dont have them
we have captains (who do nothing)
we have vicecaptains (who do nothing)
SRC (who do nothing, except for about 2 of us who work our arses off)

They conduct assemblies...show people around on open days...come to think of it, they don't do a hell of a lot.

they lead assemblies and yeah show visitors around, act all importnat and like they are the best. and like represent the school at stuff

they wear suits and ties and make cheesy speeches at assembly...and they're usually victims of punch ups

my gosh . . . prefects at my school are waaaay different

we do soooo much fun stuff! like . . .
valentines day services - serenades, roses, hugs, messages
daffodil day - deliver daffodils, sell bears, etc.
support other charities - world's greatest shave, drought appeal
organise other fun stuff! - prefect afternoon teas (with prefects from other schools), 3-on-3 bball, 3-on-3 soccer, teacher vs student sport games!

we do basically all the stuf thats been mentioned above.

i came to realise though its uberly outdated, and kinda freaky in a way. its like some cult. do you guys have a pledge????? we had to say out a pledge in our blazers and turn in synchrony. WTF? CULT :S i'm in a cult. and i realised we do heaps more in src, prefects is more with the whole running school events things, representing the school, making it look good [whereas src is more about repping the students and doing stuf for them....]

yes we have a pledge - we had to recite it before the whole school during our induction - quite hilarious really

LOL yeah same how fuckt is it though?????? its so creepy. an initiation. so so like brainwashing!!! O_O and its sooooo hard to try n not laugh i gotta say our simultaneous army like turn around to do the pledge takes the cake though in the cult like freakiness.

we just basically yell at people for wearing the wrong uniform, or inappropriate jewellery hahaha and also hand out blue slips to those who are truanting/smoking

prefects at our school helped the outside community more then they helped us!.....LoLz
but they were cool, they promoted and advocated for social justice issues around our local community.
