In desparate need of supplementry utopian text that is not George Orwells 1984. Anything at all would be good. I was thinking of Doctor Who series three epp. UTOPIA or LAST OF THE TIME LORDS. While your here one of my prescribed texts is ANTZ (1999 movie) does anyone have any essays/ assignments because it is a difficult text to analyse.

V for Vendetta is a good one. Utopia by thomas more, Plato's Republic, Milton's Paradise lost, maybe heart of darkness by Joseph Conrad as a faulted Eutopia, even something basic like peter pan

If you're looking for Dystopian texts-
A Clockwork Orange
V for Vendetta (almost an appropriation of 1984)
Animal Farm (also by Orwell)

Just be careful before you pick a text, as it may be prescribed for the HSC English course in 2009.
I know I was pissed off when I couldn't do Brave New World as my related text.

I remember a time where we had to read a distopia book box. it had:

The Handmaid's Tale
1984
Fanhrenheit 451
Neuromancer
Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep?

It was the worse book box I had to go through - a succession of increasingly depressing texts about how the world is going into ruins

The play Mann Ist Mann by Bertolt Brecht discusses the dystopia of capitalist system. Also known as Man Equals Man, and A Man's A Man. It's similar to 1984 in some ways.

'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley, the comparison between the two is interesting and if you can discuss in intelligently, it'll get you good marks.

Plus, tonnes of stuff on the internet for BNW/1984 comparison. Do ittttt.
