In the DART, it is fail item if the kerb (or roundabout etc) is mounted
with one or more wheel.

It will also incur a "No" score for distance and or lane keeping.

Your description of "a slight knick" would not be a fail item if the
issue was limited to brushing the kerb, or a slight hit (but not mounting)

It may only constitute a Lane Keep or Distance "no", or a "no" score for
boundaries in a manoeuvre.

think I earned brownie points when i did my P's

my dog bit me so i had a big bandage on my left hand and thumb thus couldn’t press the hand break down with my thumb, the examiner asked:


E: what happened to your finger?
me: my dog got ran over by a bus last night and while she was in pain, she bit me
E: ohh .. * give me sympathy looks*

I thought something like that would stop them from letting you sit the test 'coz you can't drive properly and it endangers the life of the tester? *shrugs*

Hehehe. Well, they do have their own brake pedal - and if both circuits fail, then they could just reach for the handbrake themselves.

I guess that applies only to the rental car or the instructor's car..

I did mine in my own car.. so no separate brake pedal for them! =] =]

I've never pulled the handbrake going fast and straight.. but I doubt it stops the car effectively?
