is my rank the average of the 2 ranks so far ? or am i currently rank 22 ? :S

We don't really know what your school intended your ranks to represent.

Those rankings provided the rankings for the desired assessments, So in other words you mean assessment ranks don't really determine what i'm actually ranked in my class?

No as in I don't know how your school chooses to inform you of your rank. Although right now, I'm guessing you were ranked 26 for 1st assessment and 22 for 2nd assessment.

No - your current rank would be determined by weighting your raw marks, according to their worth, adding them and then comparing them to the rest of the cohort. Marks determine the ranks and nothing else.
