With english its hard to predict as paper one is out of 40%, whilst paper two is out of 60%, meaning that BOS aligns a mark out of 100 and not 105. If I had to fathom a guess, I'd say low 70's/100.

80 for a band 5? dammn!! then what's band 6?
Fucking shut up.
It's around 77-84/100 for a band 6 depending on your texts.
Band 6 would be like 58-64/100 or some shit.

I got 93 as my final mark for Advanced English. My raw marks for the sections were as follows:

15/15, 13/15, 12/15, 14.5/20, 16/20, 18/20.

Make of those marks what you will to figure out marks for Band 5s and 6s.

He meant band 6
Band 5 would be much lower.
Around 60.
My original answer was for a band 6 NOT a band 5. I didnt read the OP's post carefully. Just to clarify, I reakon band 6 in english is roughly high 70's/100 and band 5 is mid-high 60's.

So from that 93=84/100 raw. So going off that high 70's would probably be enough for a band 6.

How'd you get half a mark?

So from that 93=88.5/100 raw. So low-mid 80's would probably be enough for a band 6.
Not sure who's wrong but I calculated it to be 84 / 100 raw... I might be wrong but yeah, taking Paper 1 40%, Paper 2 60%
:p

To me, Band 5 would be 60-65 out of 105. Depends on the strength of your cohort, of course.
