Does anyone have any idea of what mark you'd need in the for E4 in 4u math? I've been hearing numbers anywhere between 75/120 to 95/120..

It varies significantly from year to year, but I think last year it was 74/120. But I'm not 100% sure, there is a thread somewhere on this site which has it.

lookin at raw marks from last year from other ppl on this site. 81/120 got u a 92 last year, 84/120 got you a 93 and i think 95/120 would have been a 95.

so to get a 90 u wuld have to get ~75/120.

what would you get if you got 110? Thats what im aiming for
if you get a 110 you r probably going to get a 97 or a 98. bcuz no one gets full marks in the MX2 paper and state rankers usually get round 117.

1000th post. yeh.

I might be wrong but the state rankers i hav talked to said, they got everything in the paper but just made small errors. from that (and the fact that my teacher told me no one gets full marks in the 4U exam) i gathered that state rankers get round 117.

what r u aiming for

Yeah I assumed no one 100%'s (I think shadowdude posted about his uni lecturer from unsw made and marked a q8 for one year and no one got full marks).
I'm aiming 117-118 (from doing past papers I get about 117/118 on harder papers (silly mistakes) and 119/120 on easier papers (hard = ruse/sgs/sbhs etc, easy = rando schools).
But yeah, I was interested in the actual numbers for state ranks. I know state ranks for 3U is 84/84.

holy crap. nice work. if u r scoring those sorts of marks now u shuld be able to score a state rank.
have u tried the 2007 CSSA paper. mate if u can get anything above 90 on that, definite state rank. i met a guy who got 98 for Ext 2 for his hsc, he did that paper as his trial and scored a 75/120. lol.

Lol cheers. I haven't done any CSSA papers since my school sets their own trials and from what I've seen (and what my teacher has told me) is that CSSA doesn't stick very close to the syllabus (so it doesn't emulate the HSC as well as other trials which do stick closer to the syllabus). But I'll give 07 CSSA a look haha.

1 mark off full marks for each but trials was packed with difficult qs and score might be low still first though
