Hey, I'm pretty sure with Maths Extension 2, the marks are pretty fickle and difficult to obtain. Hence, they say as long as you score within the top 20-40% of students, you'll achieve over 90. My maths teachers have told me that as a fact.
as far as i'm concerned anything above 110/120 for 4u is a REALLY good mark. stacey law got either 119 or 120 for the hsc, so rest assured you need to be high to state rank. last year's hsc paper was hard, especially question 8.

and I'm aiming for 110/120 for the HSC in MX2. it's possible with my ability
and yeah Stacey law is probs one of the tankest girls I've ever seen, I know people like her as well who graduated from ruse last year

english is the only subject she didn't state rank. i think wallace chow from ruse also state ranked all his subjects except english. they both got 99.95, naturally.

Yeah I've heard that above 110 is first in HSC 4U normally, unless there's an exceptional genius that year =P It's because even though they're sure they made no mistakes, HSC markers mark really weirdly and might take off marks where you least expect. All HSC markers always mention how extremely low raw marks in the HSC are, even for 1st in the state.

E4 Mx2 ~ 72/120 Last year
State ranks for MX1 are probably 83/84 - which is very hard to achieve due to exam pressure =/
State ranks for MX2 are probably 117/120 - which too is very hard to achieve
I'll probably aim for 98 or 99 in MX2 which is between 110-115/120
