Let's say one textbook cost about $50. Just for maths, you've spent $1000?
I got like 10 of them through friends & acquaintances at relatively cheap prices. I cost like $500 all together I guess.

Re: Recommended Books

That's crazy. I got all my textbooks for a grand total of $300:

That includes:
Fitzpatrick 2U
Cambrdige 3U
Dotpoint Phys
Dotpoint Chem
Jacaranda Chem
Jacaranda Phys
Conquering Chem
Excel Phys

Far...I spent less money on all my subjects then you did on one.

Best array of textbooks. I have got them all (except Physics-related textbooks).

Excel Physics is a good book. I read over that book when I was studying for Physics. It is probably the most decent Physics revision guide.

Yeah, it's my shit-it's-the-night-before-must-revise-two-chapters-in-four-hours book.

Jacaranda Phys is for when I have a lot of time to read over the book, because it is more detailed.

really? My school provides it for us and I think it's over simplified.

Well - I think that's the point. But as you said, it isn't a good core textbook - it's really one of those night before exam things.

I wouldn't bother buying a new textbook now since it's halfway through the year already. Perhaps to make up for this, you could do your own syllabus dotpoints, based on Excel + your own notes researched from the internet or something? That's better than any textbook.

hrm.. that's a good idea. But I'm not too sure if I want to do Physics in Year 12.

Well then, I would definitely not buy a Physics textbook. But you don't have to want to do the subject next year to do well in it this year.

They are. However, they give very good solutions to the HSC questions.

Not quite sure I need them yet, though. I'll probably get them at the end of year 11.

Several things crazy with this; the fact that you got 8 textbooks for $300 and the fact that you have 8 textbooks... do you think jacaranda or conquering is better for chem (if I was in deeming's classes)

Re: Recommended Books

Fitzpatrick and Cambridge are from the school, but we paid them in school fees (which is about $20). I suppose you could add Pathways Chem and Phys (school textbooks to it, and they're shit so I don't use them).
But I forgot to add - I use Cambridge Legal Studies Textbook.

Hmmm - why would you bother buying a textbook for Chemistry? You're not doing it? And who are you? Sydney Boys? How come I don't recognise your email? Last time I checked I had almost all the grade's MSN. =\
