If you put the effort in, a high ATAR is perfectly possible.

For MX1, I use Fitzpatrick 3U (Green book) and Cambridge 3U + Terry Lee Fundamental Maths for revision questions.

I actually found Excel Mathematics Preliminary very helpful for the basics, especially if you have a lousy teacher. But its best used in conjunction with another textbook like Cambridge or Fitzpatrick.

For Business Studies, it was recommended I use Don Sykes Getting Better Results which was good :D

Im new to Bored Of Studies and i was wondering what are the best textbooks or studyguides for Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics and Standard English in the Preliminary HSC (Year 11)

Any answers will be muchly appreciated
Chemistry - Conquering Chemistry and Jacaranda Chemistry 1
Biology - Biology in Focus
Mathematics - Fitzpatrick 2u, Cambridge yr 11 2u but as been said above, Fitzpatrick is all you need and plus past papers (maybe there aren't much yr 11 maths papers out there)

Thank god. That could've been a very regrettable decision I assure you. Although the only Excel book I found that was pretty damn decent was the Studies of Religion Excel book. It was pretty informative and was very useful. Although I really don't care for SOR.
Only excel book I've ever used/bought =D
That was me and I didn't regret it. Although I liked the whole Chemistry Dot Point series, Physics Dot Point kind of sucked for me. It seemed like the author didn't put much effort into making the book, especially the investigation version of the dot point book.
Dot point sucks in general, hate it.
Bought chem and bio this year and they're both collecting dust... fuck.

Big bold letters written:

Two Unit course for years 11 and 12.

J.B Fitzpatrick

IT's BRIGHT YELLOW!< you wont be able to miss it!, also slightly smaller than the usual A4 book!
Oh and be careful I know book shops that have already sold all copies of that book so get in quick!

Fitzpatrick textbook seems very good since a lot of people on this forums and books shop selling out. What am i going to expect when i get my hands on the textbook (e.g. Old looking text book were its all text and the book is in black and white. A bit of pictures here and there).

Fitzpatrick is one of those boring old-fashioned textbooks in monotonous black-&-white. I think people value it for its content and treatment.
