For most of your subjects except maybe General Mathematics you shouldn't buy more then one textbook until the HSC (worth saving your money)

You generally don't need a textbook for English Standard...although you can purchase study guides related to the texts you are studying should you feel the need to arise.

don't worry about buying textbooks in year 11, your school should provide all the necessary textbooks required, i suggest you wait until year 12 when you purchase your own textbooks.

The only bad thing about Mathsquest (it may be due to a new syllabus) was there were quite a few wrong answers in back of the book...
