Depends cause like 20+ get 99+ in MX2 and similar for MX1

I rekon ur Chem and phys their wont be a lot of difference in all of the state ranks.

English there will be bigger gaps and for me PE will be screwed.
Not really what i meant, so i'll put numbers to it.

Last year 1st in chem got 98 -> scaled to 100.
2nd and 3rd got 98 too -> scales to what? i tihnk maybe 99.5~ ish. Cmon, they're top 3?

For maths, I tihnk 1st gets scaled 100. Then each rank below loses about 0.1 scaled

No, I dont know wat RAW they got. But they got an ALIGNED 98, which was a SCALED 100. For 1st in state.

How about 2nd 3rd you thinK?

I dunno if theres really any way to know
Scaled marks go off raw marks, and as we dont know what they are there is no way we can work out how these affect scaled marks.

So there cannot be two ppl that get 100 scaled i mean. If thats the case then i assume they would go down increments of .05 like the uai itself?

Ok well i just looking at UAc report so here we go.

Chem top person went form 98 to 100.
Top 1% still had a scaled mark of 93.6
Top 1% is top 100 students and UAC are nicer to the top students and scale them better so if u look at like top 20 i think you would be expecting 97+ Scaled mark IMO.

MX1 Top, 100
Top 1%, 98, top 1% is top 86 people so there is no difference there. And state ranks atleast 99+.

MX2 Top, 100
Top 1%, 99, top 1% is 30

Physics (for you)
Top, 100
Top 1%, 92.6, which is 92 students
So state ranks should be 95 or 96+.

PDHPE (for me)
Top 95.4 (terrible)
Top 1%, 86, thats 124 students (again useless)
State rank maybe 91 or 92 in summary need a state rank otherwise will be shit (hoping for 1 the whole time)

Eng (adv)
top, 100
Top 1%, 94.4, Top 1% is 281 students so state rank will be 98 or 99.

Source UAC report on scaling 2007.

Is this what you were after ?? It helped me. It would be way to difficult to do top 2 or 3. But u can try to interpret urself but take into mind i think most subjects less ppl on HSC mark will have the higher numbers but UAC scale the top nicer then the middle.

Wow nice. Here's me hoping for 3 state ranks to make the most of my UAI. =P a big ask but.

like how they do modern history, english adv, and etc etc. they get a couple of teachers to sit down and go through all the top (equal) raw marks to get an opinion of which they think is the best

If there's an external mark tie, they look for the highest internal mark. Then if they are tied...I think both get the same rank? (In Society one year a few people tied.) I don't think for Modern they sit around and compare responses - i remember someone in my class asked if they did and my mod teacher who has been a hsc marker told us that generally markers don't, after the initial process of determining raw band cutoffs, that is.
I think they'd just receive identical ranks if their external and internal marks were the same.

Not sure for Eng Adv though.

Hmmm yeh results soon.

I'm feeling a mix of excitement, nervousness and curiosity.

I played by my strategy all throughout the HSC, I guess I'll soon see if it worked.

Hopefully it did :haha:

Their internal marks are not considered.

Rather, internal ranks.
