I'm pretty hesitant (also luap nor is fucking insane) but he could pip the repub nomination, he'd be guaranteed the repub base who would never vote for obammy and he could pull the broad left given his anti bailout/war/empire stance

Oh fair cop, the left loves Ron Paul in America. He's like their Turnbull in many respects, the preferred candidate of the voters that would never vote republican in the first place but loathed by the parties conservative base.

Yeh all the lefty's are going on about how everyone will be poor and all the poor will be even worse off and how terrible the health system will be and basically that everyone who isnt rich will die.

They're also incredibly jelly his plans for individual tax cuts, shown by how they carry on about how 'little' Americans pay in tax already (compared to northern europe) and use it as an example of how terrible/greedy Americans are and how much they hate their fellow man.

I don't get the Ron Paul worship. I mean, I appreciate that he's probably the most reasonable of the lot, but he's still a loony Christian like the rest of them.

I find it hilarious how ignored/underrepresented he is in mainstream media, though.

Dr. No represents the libertarian in a world of big government. He isn't really a "crazy Christian" because he doesn't believe in utilising the State apparatus to carry out his beliefs, from what I've read at least. For example, he doesn't like abortion but he would give power to the states to govern whether they want it or not. Ron Paul wouldn't just put his boot on top of the issue and decide that all of America can't have it. He would repeal the marriage act entirely so the government has nothing to do with marriage since it's a personal matter (effectively destroying gay marriage (who cares, marriage is a pointless institution)).
