Well i guess thats the answer! Thanks for the reassurance :)

I'm in the same situation of going to a 'crap' school (we're just not very academic..)

And digimonstudent, so you haven't told your parents your marks yet?

Hmm are they the parents that just want you to try your beesssttest and be happy with your marks or they just want to see the 99+ on paper?
99+ on my paper.

WE dont give a fuck if you got 99 +... I'm happy for you but seriously stop insulting your own mark. Not all of us have the capability of getting in the 90s itself. And we find it frustrating any annoying that people actually do this.
Nice rant, but thats not quite right. We ALL have the capacity in doing well, and what you will find is that the smart kids tend to study alot more.

99+? i guess the whole trying my best may not be effective...
But i guess you could still try and tell them the truth and that you really put in 100% and that even you don't understand why you got the marks you got.

Re: 2008SC SC Results ~

I finally got my School Certificate results back, the school decided to be kind and actually give the children some credit :). I am quite pleased with all my marks, but then again they can always be a little better :D.

English: 85 - Band 5 (kind of expected that)
Science: 93 - Band 6 (Yay)
Mathematics: 93 - Band 6 (Was hoping for a little higher)
Geography: 89 - Band 5 (Damnit, 1 more mark)
History: 93 - Band 6 (Ooo, surprise)
Computers: 97 - Highly Competent (Wow, very hard exam :p)

What does eveyone think? lol. I'm pleased.

My overall mark with all marks averaged ended up being.... drumroll.

91.166666667

Woo, the 6 kinda repeated if you didn't guess. I'm happy, I only hope for a little higher in the UAI though :D

You found the Computer test a "very hard exam" ??? Or were you using sarcasm
hahaa, lolz. No the computer exam was a pushover. Only 2 of the questions had me stumped. The computer test was very easy... I was using sarcasm.

Re: 2008SC SC Results ~

My results:

History - 90 (The only mark I was happy with.)
Math - 89 (OMG, how frustrating!)
Science - 89 (Again, kill Me)
English - 88
Geography - 85

I was like *meh* when I got my results back. Probably a bit disappointed (especially now that I've compared my results with all these kids, although I bet most of them are ilegitimate). Although, me and a female friend have this joke where we say "We're probably better looking than them anyway" every time anybody beats us or if we go poorly in something. So that's what I'm saying right now.

My mum was disappointed with me after these results. I think she's just being horrible and believe that I went fine.

I re-direct you to people having different standards. ie. a person aiming for 99.xx UAI but getting 98.xx has the RIGHT to be pissed compared to someone aiming 70 and getting 72.
but i agree i mean if ur aiming for a course which requires a UAI of 99.95 (superelizabeth for eg) and u got 99.45 or 99.90 (dont no if they accept 99.90)
ud be pretty pissed off cause u worked your heart and soul into gettin there then it just goes down the drain cause u didnt get what you had your heart set on so then ur left with a choice to settle for something else which ud accept but not be entirely happy
has happened to a few people that i know my cuzins friend shes Viet she got a uai of 99.10 and was crying because she wanted the Triple degree at Usyd but didnt get accepted kinda sad i rekon

I think the marks are aligned:
"Once students have completed the test, then all questions are marked. For
each question or item in the examination a raw mark is calculated; this is
the value out of which the question is marked. All of these marks are then
added up across the examination to form a student's Total Weighted Mark
(TWM)..."

I did better in my trials for maths and IT but as for the rest of the subjects I did better in the actual SC
