We had really annoying obsessions at our school. We had the fruit fights, we also had taxing. Taxing involved taking the property of someone else, and leaving them a note saying 'You've been taxed' where there property was. Royal pain in the arse, you couldn't leave anything unattended.
Then we had 'downing' which involved slapping food out of someones hand just as they are about to eat it.
Hmmm... and the circle game. This is something we saw from a bunch of year 7 kids. You make a circle out of your thumb and index, and if someone looks at it you get to punch them. You had to do it below their shoulders though... very mature.

We had the circle game too!:D and they had it on malcolm in the middle this week.

Edit: forgot to add that if the person stuck their finger through the circle then they got to punch you instead :p

i think i had more fun in my 'oldschool' because even tho it was multicultured there wasnt any real racisim. I remember having waterbomb/food fights on the bball court, the lebs had their area and the rest i.e. asians or woteva on the othe side.

People would chuck apples, bottles of water and even piss sometimes. Then yr11 came we got transfered to an ex tafe and we all grew out of this stuff coz the place was brand new. Not many things happen just some vandals bombed the school thats all i can think of, oh yeah mate killed a duck in the pond and on last day another fella was doing donuts in the carpark and one of the SRC was recording it ..

There were only sections of crazes in our school, never spreads to the entire grade but just remains sorta... semi-craze. Guess people like lounging in the common room too much... or just chatting.

Hackey moved along a bit... because a soccer ball could be substituted and some of us play soccer. Soccer itself moved a large group of people esp. after the world cup.
A group of handball devotees ever since time began...
How come big 2 spread? I don't play it a lot... there's a game of cheat (like bs I s'pose) on though whenever ther was time in the commo near the end, or a gambling one.

But I didn't mix much with the huge main group. :)

Hehehe I think Im gonna win this thread.....

Firstly, we also had the pizza rounders craze as well. I hated them, but everyone else thought they were fantastic until they realised that they tasted as yummy as dog vomit.

Secondly, we had hacky sacks. That was fun. OUr group personalised it by throwing them *playing "catch"* at the juniors that sat near us.

Thirdly came gambling. At my school, we have a senior cottage, and the guys in there decided to start gambling. Cards, darts, roulette, strip poker, you name it, you saw it. Busted BIG time.

The circle game also made a brief apperance until it started disrupting English lessons (playing it with our way cool Yr Advisor).

We also had these yummy Sara Lee chocolate chocolate chip muffins, which when microwaved were delicious!!!!! (we still do that)

But the thing that took the proverbial cake was our fundraising ideas for our formal. The guys in our year started something called the Milk Challenge. Basically, you get a 2 litre bottle of Milk (not flavoured, cause its easier) and see who can drink it in under 2 minutes and keep it down for 5!
It was very popular in our year- the whole grade would cram into the senior cottage to watch. But then we decided that it would be a good fundraising idea- so the word spread around and we had a Yr 12 vs Yr 11 competition. 400 people surrounded the senior study to watch. Bets were placed, and an American guy from yr 11 won. Unfourtunately, the teachers came and busted us. Our deputy, head teacher of TAS and a math teacher as well as the head teacher of senior school came down and I have never seen a mob of people scatter so quickly. Aiden, a guy in my year, decided the crowd needed some entertainment and brown-eyed everyone incl the teachers! He got suspened for a week for indecent exposure.

The worst thing about it is- we videotaped it. The teachers took the tape to find out who started it. It was one of the guys tapes and there was porn on the front of the tape!!!!!!!

LMAO we did some funny stuff!

ooh, i remembered another!!
this only lasted a week but it was soooo funny

we would get change 50c, $2 whatever and 'drop' it on the path and 1/2 of yr 12 would sit and wait for someone to pick it up..
the second they did everyone would yell out scab and the poor scared junior would run a mile.. v. mature i know but fun all the same..

then there was the time we had clear fishing wire and a $5 dollar note ...... hehe :p

We didnt have money, instead we had vegemite from those snackabouts. What we'd do was put a huge blob of it in this high traffic area in the quad and wait for a victim to come and step on it. We even rearranged stuff like bags and bins so that theyd be herded in the right direction. Then when they stepped in the vegemite we'd all scream and yell and they'd run away staring at us. :p We were very mature back in yr 9

My friends got hundreds of bandaids, put a combination of Bonox (i think) and sweet chilli sauce on them so that it vaguely looked like a used bandaid. they then put them on the bottom of handrails etc, and waited for someone to get it stuck to their hands.
there was an intense investigation by the deputy to try to find out who was doing it.
fortunately they got bored after a week or so and stopped it, but it was pretty bad for awhile. something of a joke gone too far.

We've had a lot of crazes this year; far more than any other year. Probably because we were more stressed and hence needed stupider games during recess and lunch.

Big 2 was big, as was Hearts. They'd be played in the year 12 area and generally the 'cool, fashionable guys' would play that (as opposed to the 'stoner/jocks,' 'nerds,' or 'weird bastards').

Handball was also big for a while. It was suggested as a joke, but then we all realised it was fuckin' gold.

Cigarettes definitely counted as a craze (a craze that will continue for a few years at least, unfortunately). About 20% of the grade smokes, and about 90% of my friends. Which is a little bit of a worry I suppose. We'd go behind the gym early in the year, but then the deputy year adviser asked us to be less 'visible.' So naturally, we started smoking in the open. It culminated in a few friends and I smoking outside the hall post-HSC exams, which was nice.

Fashion-wise, we haven't seen many changes in my group. We've all got a kind of 'fashionable but not even trying' look going down, which is good. So because we're fashionable 'without even trying' we've just had crazes like dirty denim, etc. Nice.

Soccer was MASSIVE (about a third of the grade played) around World Cup time. We have a very united grade most of the time, so it was good.

And that's it really!

our latest craze is to get everyone in our area to start making large amounts of noise, screaming.....banging on rails and seats....throwing food into the sky...and its basically so bloody loud with 200 people screaming...that the teachers on duty feel overwhelemed and theres no way they can fucken stop it. they'll never stop us ahaha haha
