Plagiarism is when a person has not acknowledged the sources which they have utilised within their own work. In this way, the person presents the information as if it originated from them, as their very own idea. In most, if not all academic circles, plagiarism is seen as “a type of literary theft” (Soles, 152). Plagiarism is not merely the copy, pasting and inserting of relevant information in one’s work. Irregardless of how much one paraphrases another’s work, if they do not cite their source, it is considered plagiarism. How then, can one distinguish between the times when citation is needed? Raimes states that citation is required when using another’s exact words, ideas or opinions and all facts and statistics. BLAHBLAHBLAH. The issue regarding plagiarism is merely that, individuals are unclear about the term and what it encompasses. Due to this misunderstanding, many people are unaware of committing plagiarism. Following this, plagiarism can not be compared with the academic death penalty when people are unaware of the “crime” they are committing.

Plagiarism is significant issue in modern academia. It not only affects people who perform plagiarism, but it also concerns

just over 2000 words. ive already tried to cut it down and still only half way through conclusion

edit; i think ive over did it this time. all 3 of my paragraphs are 1 and 1/2 pages long.

that long? almost all of mine at the moment is just on the role of a journalist. you should feel lucky.
