Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

Ack, all my units this semester trade off hours for assessments, so I spend less time at uni but I have eleventy million assignments.

I'm still having fun, though, and haven't slept in ANY uni class yet. That's progress.

Yeah, neither of this sem's aussie history courses really appeal to me. I might be doing Politics and Nation with the concentrated awesome that is James Curran next sem though.
you could look at Race Around the World - which is basically a course on race relations in Australia looked at with reference to a global context. The lecturers are both solid (Penny Russell and Kirsten McKenzie) and the assessments pretty standard.

Lectures and tutes on thursday if you're interested...

you have her for a CLAW subject? I've heard she's decent, but overly eccentric.

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

Yeah doing an internets law subject, got an email from her today:

I am sorry I had to cancel the class yesterday at such very short notice. The Faculty funciton that I was desperately arranging last week was held - in great splendour - from 12.30 till 2.00. Except for the fact that the speeches went on far longer than scheduled. At 2.00, I was still irretrievable stuck smiling and listening intently. When I started squirming and getting ready to escape the Dean (who was at the same table) leaned across and asked if all was well. I whispered that I had a class to teach at 2.00. The Dean explained I was going no where and that while he never approves such things, this time it was going to happen - I had to stay put. Speeches eventually finished and I managed to get a call through to cancel the class which our admin assistant did very well - checking the official timetable and posting the notice where we should have been.

This will not happen again and I sincerely apologise. Will Krispy Kreme delivered to Tuesdays class help you to forget?

Tuesday's class will be in the labs - Lab 5 E+B Building, ground floor.

The first assignment - the lit review - will be extended by one week for when you have to hand in. We can discuss exact details on Tuesday.

Further, given this odd situation - it is open choice on topics for the lit review. you can do any topic on the list, regardless of how many other students are doing it. Please start doing the research for the lit review. The instructions are in the unit of study outline and I will explain in more detail in Tuesday's class. In the meantime, you can start researching your chosen topic.

i still remember how ur voice doesn't suit ur face. it seems that ur looks are separated from ur voice.. it's you with someone else's voice.

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

yeah I get that a lot. Once I scared someone. Although that was when I was 16.

Should my voice sound more childlike?

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

lol how did you scare someone with ur voice? haha was it telemarketing or something..you pretended to be a 40-yr-old horny man who is selling viagra?

yeah, it sounds very mature..and 'fatter'
like if we just listen to your voice
sounds like a guy who can sing opera.. thick voice
also, it's rather low-pitched and too "serious"-sounding for your looks.

nah, i didnt say lah. I was 16 or so, so I wasn't privy to Sing/Malay suffixes.
