Apparently we have a two-hour formal exam. I have no idea why they've changed that from a take-home, seems a bit unfair.

It just seems dull and difficult. Though thankfully I have a remarkable aptitude for bullshitting in essays, so I hope I'll get through it.

What is going to kill me is the group presentation thing. Every time I have a group presentation it always brings my marks down.
I did edpsych at UNSW, so I don't have to do it again!

Has anyone ever had a lecture by this Lai guy before? Fudging hilarious! He was doing simple arithmetic on the board and got confused and started scratching his head, staring at the board wondering where he went wrong. Iuno, hard to explain. Awesome lecturer at any rate.
I had him for Complex Analysis last year. Found him to be a lot of fun in the first few weeks, but he ran out of jokes around week 3 and I stopped turning up.

The thing with the no reader and the no textbook and the 'lectures are more to stimulate your own research than to teach you' made me sceptical. I'm just hoping that the fairly short essays and the take-home exam make up for it.
That seems like more of an honours approach. Hardly appropriate for undergrad work, I would think.

Every other history subject I've had since has been so much easier.

Hahahaha well I got through my lectures without misunderstanding anything, so it's not all bad news. Also I think your BoS clock's stuffed cause that was posted at 6.15 just after I got up. :p

Wasn't it like that in your 1st yr, 1st semester too?

Now you get this nostalgic hate "hmm that familiar feeling..I'm back to that moment in time"

So I guess 1st year subjects can be harder than 2nd/3rd year ones because you can be learning new things you have never encountered (not building on retained knowledge).. not as easy as it might sound

Good that ur starting so early, cuz once you start it's easier to keep going (especially for people who don't like stopping in the middle of something unless they have completed it).. sometimes it's so true that they say "the hardest part is to make a start"

I feel like I don't have enough time to do uni work cuz I spend a lot of time doing things like.. trying to find pieces of rubbish on the ground to pick up, cleaning things (not publicly of course), and re-arranging things, checking stuff

LOL Today in class I acted like so much of a geek :/ but that's not new.
