what do you mean? I read that as saying you need to earn your virginity...?

As in "needing to be well earnt" as a virtue, lol. (I can see how that could be read differently to what I intended).

I.e. I don't think it's important wether you've had a sexual partner before, but I do think it's important that you have enough self respect that you need to be earnt (each - or at least most of the - time, not just the first time). Not giving it away at random, if you will.
