How do u know the difficulty of your trial and your alligned marks let alone how you and your class WILL do in the hsc ??

it's called an approximation, based on averages. so they do have a degree of accuracy.

Yeah its a estimate. With the marks AND the ranks (ranks most importantly) An approximation is possible. It wont be spot on, but you can tell what sort of area the mark will be.

No but seriously, he has a point. I've seen people in these forums who are in no position to be giving out UAI estimates doing so, often with severely inflated or deflated predictions.
