Ok I was going to an interview with the best ska band in oz, The Porkers for Spleen Zeen,and the manager had agreed to ring me when he got there. So he rang me, and I met up with him and went to the backstage bit. I gave him a copy of the mag and he sat down and started to read it. After about 5 minutes he said
"You can sit down and we'll start this if you want"
I replied "Is the interview with you?"
"Yeah, I'm the only one here"
"Well can I wait a bit for someone from the band to turn up?"
"Whats wrong with me?"
"Arent you the manager?"
"No, I'm the singer "

Argggghhhhhhhh!

I suppose a very general description could be...er....punk with a brass section? Although it does have roots in reggae and stuff like that....I'm not really sure how to define it.

Ska is good. I've seen Lightly Salted Peanuts, some Sounds Like Chicken and I've got the Reel Big Fish cd. I think its an accquired taste though.. I can't listen to it too much, only when I'm in the mood.

ska is fun but ide never buy a cd of it or join a ska band

my friends are in a really good ska band. their called straight edge junkies. they have won heaps of battle of the bands in my area. they go off!!

If you're in the south sydney area there is a some ska bands gig on at Engadine youth center with STR, Lightly Salted Peanuts, Crying Out Loud, and Vulture. I think it's about $8 and starts at 630pm.
