rofl. I know a guy who didnt sleep that got 100.

worked while doing hsc, and still got 100. Its not about adhering to specific sleeping patterns, its what you find useful and beneficial.

Some people are night people. whilst others are morning people. Im late night early morning person myself :)

I'm now think of go to bed right after dinner, about 6:30~7:30pm
(i have my dinner early, normally finished around 6pm)
and then wake up at about 3:00 am and start doing work till school time.

The thing is, it's hard to fell asleep that early and you won't wake up on time------------none of the work done.. :-(

I rekon missing out on sleep for a couple of nights (such as before assessments etc.) doesn't actually affect you that much. It's missing sleep for long periods of time (weeks) that really tire you out.

You know what I hate? You're tired, but you stay up to do something so then you goto bed knowing you have to wake up early and get enough sleep so you're not shitty in the morning. But when you get to bed, you're not tired anymore so you roll around in bed kicking the sheets off and trying to get comfortable.

Everytime that happens to me, I wake up with a headache over my right eye.

human body needs sleep at least once a week
missing weeks of sleep will kill you and will be costly *sniff

what hsc work takes up that much time that you have to stay up pretty much all night or half the night for a whole week?

It gets like that, I generally have a hard time getting to sleep so I stay up doing work, I used to stay up until 7:30am and around 5am I'd go for a run to make sure I was alive and functionable and I'd sleep till about 11am but I'm home schooled so it doesn't affect me much when I sleep..

reminds me of this great song by Bare Naked Ladies

Bare Naked Ladies Lyrics - Who Needs Sleep
Now I lay me down not to sleep.
I just get tangled in the sheets.
I swim in sweat 3 inches deep
Just lay back and claim defeat
Chapter read and lesson learned.
Turn the lights off while she burns.
So while she's 300 degrees,
I throw the sheets off and I freeze.
Chorus:
Lids down, I count sheep
I count heart beats.
The only thing that counts is that I won't sleep
I countdown, I look around
Who needs sleep??
Well you're never gonna get it.
Who needs sleep??
Tell me, what's that for?
Who needs sleep??
You're happy wiith what you get and there's a guy that's been awake
since the 2nd world war.
Who needs sleep??
Well you're never gonna get it.
Who needs sleep??
Tell me, what's that for?
Who need sleep??
You happy with what you get and there's a guy that's been awake since
the 2nd world war.
My hands are locked up tight in fists
My mind is racing, filled with lists
of things to do and things I've done
Another sleepless night's begun.
(Chorus)
So much joy in life and so many pleasures all around
but the pleasure of insomnia is one I'd never found.
With all life has to offer, there's so much to be enjoyed
but the pleasures of insomnia are ones I can't avoid.
Lids down, I count sheep
I count heart beats.
The only thing that counts is that I won't sleep
I countdown, I look around
Halla halla halla
Who needs sleep??
Well you're never gonna get it.
Who needs sleep??
Tell me, what's that for?
Who need sleep??
You hafta use what you get and there's a guy that's been awake since
the
2nd world war
Who needs sleep??
Well you're never gonna get it.
Who needs sleep??
Tell me, what's that for?
Who need sleep??
You hafta use what you get and there's a guy that's been awake since
the
2nd world war

During stuvac and uni exam period, combined with Euro 2004, my sleep patterns have been warped. I have been going to bed at about 9am on average, and sleeping till about 3pm, on the days i dont have exams, and sleeping from 4-8am on days when i have exams.

In Year 8 I stayed up until 3am to finish an assignment for science
In Year 10, I stayed up until at least 3am to finish assessments, numerous times
In Year 11, I also stayed up until 5am to finish a few assessments
In Year 12, its not going to be any different

running at 5am is FREEZING not to mention dark
Haha it's suprisingly a good time to go for a run, it's refreshingly cold and quiet and really pretty, plus it makes it easier to go home and curl up in bed for a couple hours of sleep. :) And it's not really that dark, it's a nice light, 4am is when it's too dark and 6/7am it's too bright..
