Sorry but if you think a car is more maneuverable than a bike, especially in suburbia, I think you are flat out retarded eh

im sorry but if you think a bike is more maneuverable that a car, you must hate physics.

and that video doesnt prove anything lol it is <20km/h

im talking road speed.

Road speed I cut through traffic faster than a car

Slow speed I cut through traffic faster than a car

Hmm

Edit: Feel free to try Ken Block drifting to the front of the traffic lights, lemme know how that works out

maneuverability is also the wrong word

i mean handling

a car can go around a corner better = better handling
a bike is more maneuverable = can turn in a smaller circle and park easier etc

i did state handling at the start and quik introduced maneuverability.

I don't even see how the GTR vs 1098 on a track is relevant, I never argued that a bike has better high speed cornering etc simply that they were more maneuverable (they are) and have more options to get out of dodge (they do)

high speed handling is relevant to maneuvering around obstacles/hazards etc at road speed (where it matters)

lol okay then
Edit: not really talking potholes lol

more like you're riding along at 100km/h and a cow runs out infront of you

you kind of have to swerve

im just saying a car will do it better

Who cares which is more maneuverable.

I feel more confident and alert riding a bike. This doesn't change the fact that many accidents you'll survive unhurt in a car, you'll die or be seriously injured on a bike.

You can't be alert, prepare and defend for all mistakes other drivers will make. You're a moron if you think you're so fucking special you'll never make mistakes and are perfectly able to respond to any emergency. You're not better than every rider who has ever died or been paralyzed on the road.

My father had a certain asbk rider as a student, on a scholarship from yamaha. He asked what road bike he had- "Oh no, I'd never ride on the road, too dangerous.". Iirc he made comments that almost all the championship riders won't ride a road bike.

The passive safety features of a car are just an overwhelming advantage in an accident. Any small advantage that may exist in active safety, is poor compensation.

Going a bit quick, I ran wide and hit the gutter on my bike. A small concrete boundary of a few inches threw me off. Coming off, I broke my collarbone. Much worse could have happened. I probably wouldn't have even damaged the steering in my car.

you just nudge the bar but it takes time for the bike to start turning since at any appreciable speed the only way a bike turns is by leaning.

the other thing is that alot of people when freaking out will steer "away" from the danger which has the effect of turning the bike toward it. Especially since your eyes will be drawn to any hazard and one of the ways you are taught to steer is to look where you want to go.

I'm not saying I'm perfect and better than Rossi, not by a long shot, but I also don't hit gutters by pushing it on the road

Accidents happen, sure, but on the bike you are solely responsible for your safety. I'm perfectly okay with that, and feel more comfortable on my bicycle with an engine than driving a car with shit blocking my view all over the place.

I get what you are saying about the shock fucking with what you are meant to do Riet. Thus far has not been an issue for me personally, I tend to always keep note of gaps to slip through/give me extra braking time whatever

I know not all cars are GTRs but concept is the same, if you are leaning a bike you have to countersteer and make it lean in the other direction before it will turn. Srsly stop being ridiculous it's elementary physics.
This doesn't take that much time. The increased alertness on a bike should counter that anyways, imho.

but yer, safety of car >>> bike
manuverability of car >>> bike

lol increased alertness
so other things being equal, your ability to perceive hazards is reduced in a car
...just because?

no, because being encased in a shell makes you feel safer, which decreases your alertness.

poll time. any honest person who does both will admit to being more alert on a bike than in a car - you have to be.
