Stefan Postma
Filed under:

* Aston Villa Football Club

Stefan Postma

Stefan Postma (born June 10, 1976 in Utrecht, The Netherlands) is a Dutch footballer and goalkeeper for Aston Villa F.C..

He was born in Utrecht, Netherlands and was signed from Dutch team De Graafschap on May 14, 2002 for 1.5 million pounds, upon Peter Schmeichel’s migration to Manchester City F.C. which came to pass on July 1 of that year. Postma’s debut came unexpectedly in a 0-1 defeat at Southampton F.C. on October 21, 2002, following the premature dismissal of Peter Enckelman.

Manager David O’Leary’s purchase of Thomas Sorensen suggests Postma is now seen as the number two at the club, and he was only called upon twice in the 2003/04 season. Stefan recently spent a week in a bidding war with a Sunday tabloid to buy up a DVD which allegedly shows him being anally penetrated by a girlfriend wearing a strap-on.

blah... of all the clubs... he had to go to arsenal..... :p

nah

when Nakata was at his peak, he was surely the best asian player around

his peak would've been when he was palying at Perugia(or Regina? eh, some Italian club lurking in the bottom half of the table) and when he was on the bench at Roma..even on the bench, he made such a huge impact, i still remember the goal he scored against Juventus

at the moment the two best asian players would be Nakamura and Park..but then again, you can't compare those two players..both are very good in their own ways
yeh nakata has really gone crap years ago... and spiralled further since he got dropped and left parma. I'd add Karimi to Park and Nakamura as the top asian players.

CITY: WRIGHT-PHILLIPS NOT FOR SALE

Manchester City have stressed that star winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is not for sale.

The club declared that they have received no approach from champions Chelsea or any other club, and would not welcome interest from their Barclays Premiership rivals.

Chelsea were reported to have offered £18million for the 23-year-old England man, and such a fee would be hard to turn down for City, who are struggling against debts of more than £60million.

However the club were keen to dispute the claims, and assured fans that Wright-Phillips remains their player.

"Shaun has not been sold, we have received no bids for him nor will we encourage any," head of communications Paul Tyrrell told the club's official website.

Tyrrell argued that the reports were "speculative", adding: "We want to set the record straight on this important matter."

Wright-Phillips fired 10 league goals for City as they finished eighth last season, and signed a new four-year contract at the start of the campaign.

He also made his England debut, scoring after coming off the bench against Ukraine.

Despite missing eight weeks of the season after tearing cartilage in his right knee, Wright-Phillips returned for the closing games.

City missed out on Europe, with Robbie Fowler's last-minute penalty miss against Middlesbrough on the final day denying new boss Stuart Pearce's side a place in the UEFA Cup.

Hm... we'll see what happenz, but I really hope he don't go to Chelsea. I hate thoze fuckerz who want every good player in the world.

I should remind you guys that the transfer window isn't actually open till 1/7. That means Everton may well have signed a couple of players, but are simply keeping it under wraps. Idiotic of them to let the Parker deal slip though, Forssell too.

Baggies in Saviola link
by Mark Buckingham - created on 19 Jun 2005

West Bromwich Albion have been linked with an audacious swoop for Barcelona outcast Javier Saviola.

According to reports in Spain, Baggies boss Bryan Robson is keen to bring the Argentina international to The Hawthorns.

Saviola faces an uncertain summer on the club front after spending the past season on loan at Monaco.

He is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup and will discuss his future at Camp Nou at the end of the tournament.

The attacker's priority is to stay in Catalunya and this has been stressed by both the player and his agent in recent days.

But Barca coach Frank Rijkaard has no plans to utilise the diminutive playmaker next season and is willing to offload Saviola.

Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Mallorca are all keen to keep him in La Liga, although his agent suggested he did not want to play for another Spanish club.

That has prompted talk that West Brom are plotting a surprise bid to lure Saviola to The Premiership as Robson looks to inject some quality into his squad.

Saviola may prove out of The Baggies' reach for a permanent deal but they could tempt Barcelona into sanctioning another season-long loan arrangement.

What bullshit

Arsenal make £14m Robinho bid

Arsenal have made a £14million bid for Brazilian wonderboy Robinho after officials flew to Nuremburg last night to make a final check on the striker during the Confederations Cup semi-final against Germany.

The 21-year-old Santos star has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid but the Gunners have now have outbid the La Liga giants, who believed they could land the striker for approximately £10million, according to the Spanish media.

Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley has made a number of trips to scout South American youngsters and Robinho, who has been likened to Ronaldinho because of his dazzling dribbling skills, is top of the list.

The Sao Paulo born player was heavily linked with a move away from Brazil following the kidnapping of his mother, Marina Lima de Souza, from a family barbecue in December last year. She was later returned after being held for ransom.

Real were the club most frequently mentioned with a swoop for the unsettled youngster and the Gunners can expect a transfer battle.
