Why would someone with a PhD want to work in a mall business anyway? If they were looking to be employed, they would be targeting somewhere that needs their expertise (NASA for example):).

i dunno- but i guess ppl. just do it for fun. for eg. the chairman of telstra (the ziggy guy)- he's got a phd in nuclear physics, yet he's a chairman. LoL

I was talking to a usyd science advisor and I asked him whether it's hard to find a job with a sci degree and he gave me the example of ziggy :) Sif he got the chairman position because of his phd in nuclear physics :rolleyes:

and whats the deal with classifications of honours.....? like eg. first class honours?????/

I don't know the differences between them. I just know that there are different classifications:).

can anyone tell me what bridging courses are?
and why you sometimes need to transfer to other universities?

also i heard that if you could not achieve the required UAI for a certain course, you could do some other course and then transfer into the course you couldn't get into. how does this work?

well they are courses that u do bfore the uni. starts. they are done bcoz a course might have a prerequsite for certain hsc subjects, and if u haven't done them- then u gotta do the bridging courses- i hope u understand what i mean. LoL

People transfer to other Universities because they might move or want to attend a more "prestigious" University:).

and also people transfer coz they didnt get the course they wanted either internally or externally
