So Ive written my speech for English and it needs some finishing touches. What are some tips or things to include in a speech to make it stand out from the others?
Any help would be fantastic!

Speeches are awesome in that they differentiate people the best in my belief. If you can't write, then you can't write a speech. If you can write an essay, that doesn't mean you can write a speech.

Speeches differ from any other text type in that they engage the emotions and rally people to a cause. Doing that requires skill, control and flair in the words you choose, the way you arrange the words and the way the words are meant to be said. Really, that art of rhetoric is something you can't really fake - I think.

Read it out loud and see if it's rallying and a good speech. You know one when you hear one.

Speeches are at LEAST 60% how you say it. Make sure you vary your intonation and pace-emphasize and pause effectively.

In saying that, it is still important to have fantastic content as well, good public speaking does not guarantee you the top mark! Although it definitely is important, and there is nothing worse than boring the 'you know what' out of your audience, but sometimes the best public speakers in a year group can be beaten by people with good content and a shocking 'engagement' factor. That being said, try to do both! Because then you'll be unbeatable ;)

In real life, it's more than this. Content makes up around 7%. The rest is verbal and non-verbal presentation.

Keep this in mind when giving a speech.
