I was travelling back from terrigal tonight, i live around here so i know that there is a speed camera here. my mate was caught going 70 a few days ago (speed limit is 60) and tonight we both went through at well under 55. i was around 45-50 km/h.

although we were going so slow, the camera still flashed. is it possible that the camera is faulty? and if it flashed will i be picked up? i drove back later to see if there were any 40 signs up but there were none. the speed limit is 60 and my mate was watching my speed too and i still got picked up. what the fuck is this?

cheers. anyone have an idea?

It was night so maybe the flash was just a reflection of someones headlights?

Just because those cameras flash doesn't mean you automatically get fined.

What usually happens is speed cameras take two photos in quick succession and can therefore determine your speed between the two points in the photo. If you are travelling below the speedlimit you should be fine. :)
