coz i've never felt the need to argue about politics with people. i have my views, you have your views, lets continue living a happy life.

I would question whether you havnt felt the need to argue about politics. I mean, if you vehemently believe in something you will argue for it. It would be contrary to human behaviour to do otherwise. And surely politics in its pure form is a forum for debate, so your reasoning seems quite inept.

Perhaps, may i suggest, you would not be able to argue, because you:

1. Lack a fundamental understanding in politics
2. Lack the intelligence for political debate and discussion
3. Dont know what you stand for, other than standing for what everyone else doesnt stand for

And all my friends support the Liberal party just because their parents do (why yes they have actually stated this and no im not talking about everyone who supports the Liberal party just a sample group)... same diff really... happens on both sides of the equation and is really unavoidable.

If the majority of usyd students cant make up there minds with regard to what political policies they believe id hate to interpret the political views of the remainder of the population. Oh, thats right. Howard, 4 consecutive terms. I get it.

Thats not too bad an idea. It would offer an interesting predicament - do you try and get people to vote for you, or do you spend all your time persuading people to anti-vote others? (assuming, of course, that you are allowed to lodge only one vote, and it has to be either a real vote or anti-vote and not both)

I suppose it would then be a matter of, if a person is left on the voting card, does that mean that they are elected, even if no-one voted for them (because they were all anti-voting the others....)

Am I the only one who thinks you should have the option to lodge an anti-vote ie a vote is taken off the candidate you select?

Now that would be refreshing.

Or, the person with the lowest votes gets paraded around the uni decked out in EU apparel. That would be even better.

although i guess that small print is a reflection on how much factional dealing actualli goes on in SRC

Unity are pretty much dead on campus so far as SRC go, they're running Spark for SRC and NUS but it's a fairly non-serious attempt.
