Yes ext 1 maths can be counted in ur UAI whether or not u choose 2 do ext 2 in yr 12.
For the UAI they use your best 10 units (including 2 units of Eng) they can spilt a two unit subject in half.
e.g if your economics results are the poorest they can spilt ur result for that subject in half, only including 1 unit of it and use ur 1 unit of ext Maths.
So yes, ext 1 maths can count 2 your UAI.

It will be counted.

but the thing about having a 2 unit subject as your poorest means that a mark out of 100 will be scaled down to 50. ie; 81/100 becomes 40.5/50 and then goes into the aggregate of your marks. which is 500 all up. to get 100UAI i think you need to get above 485/500

=)

have fun.

so basically---if I do better in My EXT1 MAths than something else than it will be counted along with the 2units maths

Yes

First of all they work out your best 2 units of English and then they work out your next best 8 units. This can include more units of English and/or 1 unit subjects.

If an odd number of units are used to say reach the best 7 units (after the best 2 units of English) they split the next best 2 unit subject to get you the best 8 units.

They don't just look at the marks by the way but at the scaling of the subjects so you might get say 80/100 in the HSC for Art and 70/100 for Physics but the Physics will be the marks used for the UAI because of the scaling (this is an example off the top of my head and is not meant to imply that these subjects scale that way in relation to each other).
