Damn. I just realised I was one mark off distinction in MATH1004 last year. 74.
I only just realised because I remembered it as 73.
Hate that.

As for the 6cp of elective, I'm not sure if TSP goes towards that or if TSP is actually just the (Special Studies) thing for the subjects. Does anyone know about this?

"Students are expected to attend a minimum of 80% of timetabled activities for a unit of study"
No one told me this. Far out, haha. Do lectures fall under 'timetabled activities'? I thought only tutorials and practicals marked attendance.
see ya in math1901/02 :D

oh crapp. really? i swear they didnt take attendance, i was planning on rocking up to the times that suited me for my commerce lectures (i assume there will be a tonne of them) so that I can have Wednesday off. Otherwise i'll have 15 hours a week over 5 days, ergh.

It's an opportunity to do research right from first year. It's especially useful if you want to do academia later as it gives you a taste. Also just as good for deterring you from academia (as it did for me :p )

It looks good to employers who know you're not just another pedestrian graduate.

It allows you to interact with other high performing students.

It allows you to interact with academics.

It's all good - do it if you can!

Yeah this so much. First I've heard of it lolololo.

Also just fyi for the lectures, if you can't be bothered tricking TTU to give you the lectures you want, just rock out to the stream you want. Also for tutes, rock up to one of the better tutors/time and just get your name put on the roll there.

Omg omg.

I am so jealous of you getting to take that course with the best coordinator ever (most organised unit I've ever done).

This is what I'll do if you ever speak blasphemy about the beloved unit. (Same reaction to anyone bagging GEOS1X02)

It's not that bad. Funnily enough I'm less busy contact hours wise in the semester I overload in haha.

Sounding good so far :). Looking forward to it.

But I think there is a different coordinator this year. Heard of Dr Charlotte Taylor?

Omg I LOVE PUNNETT SQUARES! They are like a therapeutic thing for me. Where they like tri ones?

Yay writ buddies, wish I could see when the seminar class is (any day but friday pls, don't take away my beautiful friday off)
I did not get a good chance to look... too much MBLG for me. ANAT shall keep me sane... *names all the gyri and sulci of the brain*. She says it is an enjoyable unit - more enjoyable than PHSI and IMMU. :)

I'm not bothered to check class times... hit me with your best shot Timetable Unit! (Actually don't - be nice to me) :p WRIT is going to be my break unit. ANAT, ARIN and SCLG are going to take up most of my time (thank God I only have two final exams this semester).

If you study consistently you will be on your way to a HD.

Personally thought econ1001 was fascinating, but all my friends hated it, so maybe I'm just weird. It is a 'hard' unit though- averages were just above the 50% mark for most assessments iirc, but there's quite a bit of scaling involved. Lecturer when I did it was katrien stevens, she's great + loved her accent (makes watching 6 hours straight worth of lectures bearable). buss1030 is really useful, though the 2 weekly assessments were just plain annoying imo (don't leave them to the last minute! like me, literally every. single. week.)
